"I am now struggling to survive in any kind of way whatsoever and if it wasn't for this place I'd be literally staving."

'This place' is Wilde Goose Café in Bristol, an organisation dedicated to helping the homeless.

The Wild Goose café opens from 10am to 2 pm, and from 8 pm to 10 pm, five days a week, and is run by volunteer teams from local churches. In addition to providing food and drink, it also offers a supportive and encouraging space where people can gather and talk, and get practical help with benefits, healthcare, and finding accommodation.

The Wild Goose Café which has been open for 25 years and feeds as many as 300 people a day as well as offering counselling and rehabilitation.

Dawn Gibbins' generous donation during the Secret Millionaire program on Chennel 4 will help the group move to larger premises where they hope to sit between 100 and 130 people, unlike the 12 they can currently accommodate.

"We are eternally grateful to Dawn and The Secret Millionaire team. Thanks to the gift we have now just purchased a pub which we believe will enable us to help the people who come to us more effectively, to provide a safer and more welcoming space, to provide a greater range of support and services, and to stay open for longer."

Dawn on the Wildgoose Café:

"Oh this place is so special. - I titled my diary page " A Leap of Faith". From the first day I worked in the Wild Goose cafe I was wowed by the team volinteers and their attitude.

Before every shift one  person says a liitle prayer to keep everyone safe and send a beam of hope to the universe that one person will be saved from the cold dark lonly dangerous streets.

The wild goose serves 70000 meals per year to the homeless - wow.

It also offers a course tp help people say no no no to drugs and alcohol, which is needed."

Dawn had such fun workig there she would recommend it to anyone. In fact, she is taking her own daughter to experienc it in. May
