One25 - helping women step away from the streetsThe Barefoot Foundation is proud to sponsor Bristol's One25 - an organisation that reaches out to women trapped in street sex work, supporting them to break free and build new lives away from violence, poverty and addiction.
"I first met the wonderful team at One25 when I featured on Channel 4's Secret Millionaire, on the streets, seeing their incredible devotion to helping sex workers to break free," explains Dawn Gibbins MBE. "I was so touched by the tragic tales I heard and by the amazing success these devoted volunteers are achieving. We are adopting One25 as a key organisation to help through our own charitable fundraising and in any other ways we possibly can."
One25 offers a number of services to their community:

Outreach
The women often make first contact with One25 through outreach. The One25 van goes out 5 nights per week and provides nutritious food, hot drinks and a chance to talk and get advice in a safe space. They give access to a mobile phone to contact emergency hostels, information on ‘ugly mugs’ (perpetrators of street violence), warm clothes, personal alarms, first aid, condoms and more.
Drop-inThere are often opportunities for more in-depth conversation and practical support at our drop-in centre. The women can speak to a caseworker without appointment and gain expert advice and help from visiting professionals including doctors, addiction workers, basic skills tutors, etc.
Naomi HouseNaomi House is a unique mother and baby home offering intensive support to women who want to break free from addiction and sex-work and give their babies a better start in life. Residents engage in therapies and practical skills sessions and receive intensive parenting support. The project enables vulnerable families to transform their lives and reach their full potential together. There are only 3 other mother and baby homes in England and Wales for women with addictions and no other specifically for those wanting to escape sex work.
